Special Olympics Regional/National Partnership
Connect with the markets that are critical to your business objectives. With seven Special Olympics regions around the world — Africa, Asia Pacific, East Asia, Europe/Eurasia, Latin America, Middle East/North Africa and North America — Special Olympics strategically links you to your target audience worldwide. For more information about corporate partnerships on a regional, national, state/provincial or local level, contact the appropriate Special Olympics region or Programme. To locate a region or Programme, use our Programme Locator.

Proprietary Activity Partnership
Sponsorship opportunities are available with a variety of Special Olympics proprietary activities. Sponsorship can be a donation of cash, product/services or both. Special Olympics proprietary activities include:

• Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Partnership: Raise your visibility in more than 35 nations through the Special Olympics’ largest grass-roots fundraising and public awareness vehicle. The Torch Run provides tremendous visibility and presence opportunities for your company: In 2005 more than 85,000 law enforcement officers carried the Flame of Hope across 35 nations, and thousands more supported the runners’ efforts through “Adopt-A-Cop” sponsorships, corporate sponsorships and sales of Torch Run T-shirts (more than 400,000 sold) and other merchandise.

• Healthy Athletes® Partnership: Healthy Athletes improves athletes’ ability to train and compete in Special Olympics by improving their health and fitness, leading to enhanced sports experience and improved well-being. This unique marketing platform allows your company to reach millions of consumers at more than 200 annual Special Olympics Healthy Athletes events worldwide. The initiative includes Fit Feet, FUNfitness, Healthy Hearing, Health Promotion, Opening Eyes® and Special Smiles®, as well as MedFest, a programme that facilitates the required standard sports physical examination for current and prospective Special Olympics athletes.

• Leadership Training and Empowerment: Special Olympics athletes go beyond the playing field — they are leaders in their own movement. Your involvement with Athlete Leadership Programmes (ALPs) empowers both children and adults with intellectual disabilities to gain the confidence and skills they need to be effective contributors to society and to share their message globally.

• Schools and Youth: Reach the future leaders of the world through Special Olympics Schools and Youth initiatives. In just its first two years, Special Olympics Get Into It® — the first-ever curriculum guide developed specifically to educate and empower youth to respect and embrace differences in people with intellectual disabilities — was integrated into more than 9,000 schools, reaching more than 1.5 million students worldwide.

• Special Olympics Families: Enable the families of Special Olympics athletes to connect with each other. The Special Olympics Family Support Network builds on existing networks of athletes’ family members to create a community where families can come together, learn from one another and reach out to other families. The athletes’ families critically need to communicate with one another and access the tremendous resources that Special Olympics offers around the world.

• Global Knowledge Sharing and Training: Be a leader in redefining social responsibility by supporting Special Olympics University, a global, state-of-the-art virtual learning medium that equips millions of athletes, coaches, staff and volunteers with a wide range of interactive, Internet-based training resources, empowering them to deliver the powerful message of Special Olympics worldwide.

• Employee Volunteerism: Unite employees worldwide by providing hands-on volunteer opportunities through local Special Olympics Programmes. Your employees will experience everything from serving on a Board to coaching an athlete to awarding medals. Not only will they inspire, they will be inspired!
