International PR agency, Fleishman Hillard stepped in to support the promotion of the inaugural European Business Leaders Forum for Special Olympics Europe/Eurasia which took place in Monte-Carlo, Monaco on Friday, February 5th. The Forum, hosted under the honouree Presidency and presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, included prominent individuals from the world of business, political, sports and entertainment addressing the challenge of overcoming financial hurdles to reach more children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

MONACO: Face of Monaco Includes People with Intellectual Disabilities
Photos of people with intellectual disabilities at work and in sport are included alongside images of His Serene Highness Prince Albert of Monaco, in a stunning collection of 200 black and white images of daily life in Monaco gathered in a book entitled ‘Faces of Monaco’ which launched in Monaco recently. Proceeds from the sale of the book are going toward the Special Olympics Association in Monaco.

Ljubicic Named Special Olympics Ambassador in MONACO
Tennis legend Ivan Ljubicic, is to become Ambassador for the program.  A long-time supporter of the national program, he says: “It is a natural step for me to become Ambassador for Special Olympics Monaco as I have been helping them for some time now. I would love to keep giving my support in the following years, even after I retire.”

IRELAND: Memorial mass celebrated for Eunice Kennedy Shriver
 Dr Timothy Shriver, Chairman and CEO of Special Olympics attended a memorial mass in Dublin today to celebrate the life and legacy of his mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, founder of Special Olympics who passed away last August. She was a leader in the worldwide movement to improve and enhance the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities for more than six decades.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities Celebrated
The annual observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December, aims to promote an understanding of disability issues, the rights of persons with disabilities and gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of the political, social, economic and cultural life of their communities.
